Tinder now has prompts to make starting a conversation easier

What does the Sahara Desert have in common with conversations on dating apps?

They’re both very dry.

It can be hard to start talking to a match – do you start with a ‘hey’, crack a joke, or compliment them?

Some dating apps make it easier than others with prompts that can make good conversation starters.

Tinder is the latest app to add prompts, which range from things you’re talking to your pet about, songs you sing while washing your hands and things you wish were invented.

The feature is available on other apps like Hinge and Tinder creators are now on board, hoping these pre-written statements will allow good segues to getting to know one another.

And it’s pretty simple to add the new lines, just go to the profile icon on the top right corner of the app, add media and press text prompt.

Then just pick your faves. If you don’t like the initial ones displayed, you can press the dice on the top left of the screen and check out all the other available prompts.

Pick the ones that speak to you and add a response.

The prompts will display as a photo, so when potential matches click through your profile, they’ll get an idea of what you’re about.

Some of the options include ‘I’m finally bingeing…’, ‘two truths and a lie’, ‘the one thing I won’t take for granted again’ among others for you to fill in.

If you’re particularly proud of one of your prompts, you can rearrange the order with your photos.

Or if the prompts are no longer relevant or you’re not feeling them, you can remove them at any time.

New prompts will also appear as weeks go by.

So if you’re looking to refresh your profile as the world dates digitally, keep checking the latest ones available.

It might be good to add them, considering we’re not going anywhere interesting and taking cool pictures.
